Does anyone know if they still use Astrea helicopters in these colors:

I don't believe they are. They're pretty much the same in that photo only blue where the red is. Here's a pic:

Mike,
I believe after the crash of the Astrea helo in Sycamore Canyon in 1996 the department switched to the blue design. Before that you saw blue, red and even this one (which is the one that crashed)

per the wiki link... the crash was in 1997 ?

1997 - On February 16, Deputy Patrick "Pat" S. Coyle, 42, died after the ASTREA helicopter in which he and pilot Ron Hobson were flying lost power and crashed in Sycamore Canyon, northeast of Santee, California. His death marked the first fatality in the then 25-year history of the sheriff's air support unit.

Maybe I hadn't noticed before, but do they only use even numbers for Astrea?

I heard a new bird logging on the other day, and they wanted to use 2 but 2 was still in service so 2 said to use 4, but the new crew decided to use 6.
