i did see some of the new gm rigs at the maint facility. i believe the ford rigs were donated to the dept around the time of the oct. wildfire.
Interesting you note you said they are moving away from ford. In San Diego lots of towing companies went from using GMC/CHEVY to FORDs. In late 1990-2000 there were lots of GM/GMC tow trucks. but now 2001-2008 most of them are FORDs(F450/F550). Even the bigger flatbeds are F650/750. Wonder who is harder on the trucks EMT or Tow Drivers
