System Notes:
This is a DFA (Direct Frequency Access) system, and therefore CH ID (aka LCN) are not required. Uniden scanners that are capable of trunk tracking NEXEDGE systems will obtain the traffic channel information from the control channel.

You only need to program the control channel frequency into your Uniden scanner. The scanner will get the voice frequencies via the control channel when monitoring the site.

Direct Frequency Assignment (DFA) for efficient site/channel addition.
With the flexibility inherent in NXDN Gen2, you can always keep the system up to date easily and quickly. When adding a new channel or site with older Gen1 models, it has been necessary to collect every single SU on the network for reprogramming. Then all the radios had to be sent back into the field.

What has changed all this is DFA – Direct Frequency Assignment – which ensures that as soon as new frequencies are added to the network, all equipment and subscriber units connected to the network are notified automatically. No radios have to be called in. Downtime is zero. Nothing could be more welcome for site managers and SMR operators who want to add channels or sites.

RAN = NEXEDGE (Kenwood), can range from 0 to 63

• Please post a comment if this is wrong.
• Some or all of R29 (Rebel Communications) is owned and operated by MRA. I’ve seen users on MRA roam on Rebel.
• My records show some duplicated site numbers using R31. I’m not sure how that’s possible. (?)
• Onyx Peak appears to use a Public Safety Pool frequency licensed to Red Cross.

Site: R31-24 ------------- 453.7625 – SAN BERNARDINO – ONYX PEAK
Site: R31-32 ------------- 462.53125 – SAN BERNARDINO – FLASH II
Site: R31-37 CC=16528 - 451.6500 - SAN BERNARDINO - COPPER MTN DFA
Site: R31-61 ------------- – SAN BERNARDINO – IBEX PASS SITE

You were correct. Site 37 is Copper Mountain and not Indio Hill. MRA also operates a MotoTRBO Capacity Plus system in Northern California.

Re: Mobile Relay Associates (MRA) very nice NEXEDGE48 System

DFA control/rest/home channels can be expected to be placed on leased spectrum whenever possible. Why? Because they won't interfere with any co-channel user on leased spectrum.

You say the System ID is 31. I show there's a second System ID 29 that reuses the site numbers and RANs in outlying areas.

There are at least a dozen more System 31 sites.

System ID 31
============
Site 19 is Cactus City.
Site 20 is ½mi north of Desert Hills Outlet Mall.
Site 24 is Onyx Peak.
Site 37 is Copper Mountain.
Site 39 is Needles Frontier central office.
Site 49 is Reche Peak.
Site 50 may be Mazourka?
Site 63 is Turquoise Mountain.
Site 69 is Tecopa Peak.

System ID 29
============
Site 2 is Potosi.
Site 6 is Christmas Tree.
Site 12 is Little Maria.
Site 15 is CA State Route 127 at CA State Route 178.
Site 16 is Rob's Knob.

I've driven by the Needles C.O. only because it's on a major street. I've never been near any of the other sites.
