Harumph, I thought the PRO-96 didn't pay any attention to the status bits. What happens when you program in the base talkgroup number. That is, if the talkgroup number you're trying to program isn't a multiple of 16, then program in the the nearest lower talkgroup number that is a multiple of 16. It would certainly be a PITA to have to program in sixteen talkgroups for every one to cover all status bit possibilities. (Of course, half those are encrypted, so only eight would really be needed.)

Dispatch talkgroups

I also noticed that dispatch was pretty quiet for a bit there. I know that they were also using DTMF paging to open the station monitors for a day or two as well. I wonder if they were related problems?

Has dispatched stopped simulcasting calls on 154.235mhz?

Escondido fire still uses 154.325mhz as a simulcast.

Who was 154.234? SDFD was 154.310 and that stopped maybe a year or year and a half ago.

I also stopped hearing Escondido VHF dispatch maybe a year ago so I took it out of the scanlist.... Is it back? That would be cool as it makes the not-so-useful VHF radios more better :)

It's been back since at least November.

My bad. I have 154.235 programmed on my ICOM 2800h, and it says SD FIRE as the ident. I think .235 was Oceanside Fire VHF...?

154.2350 was the old Zone 1 Rancho Fire dispatch channel ... 154.3850 was Zone 2, 154.3250 was Escondido, and Oceanside was on 159.1650 (or something like that).

North County Fire (Fallbrook and Rainbow) are still on 154.2350 with a PL of something like 114.8. I do believe NCFD is joining Rancho sometime very soon. They also pop on on their (NCFD) RCS talkgroups once in awhile.
