Some Updated East County Cell Info (with FCC Data Too!)

So it was such a nice day I decided to go for a small road trip to smoke some cigars, drink coffee, and most importantly - play with the scanners!

I traveled out Highway 94 to the county line and back up through Mt. Laguna and Julian before coming back to the city and made notes as I could on the systems ... (I'll use the names of the sites listed here)

I have a few updates for the database

Since I'm a data geek, I went and correlated the info I found with what I could find in the FCC databases so I'll post 'em both. I also found some conventional 800 frequencies listed on the same towers that I'm posting as well ...

Also - RCS South works great all the way to Potrero / Tecate ... Which SO office patrols 94 along that section? Lemon Grove? ANYWAYS ...

Notice on the list of radios being purchased for currently non-digital users are all Astro radios. This also trends towards the rumor I've heard that soon, ALL traffic on the RCS will move to digital.

Nothing more stupid than moving fire fighting operations to a modulation scheme that makes the audio harder to understand. It's hard enough to hear firefighters with a BA on talking on a radio in analog. Guess what it will sound like in Digital?

I see almost no rural fire agencies on there - Does that mean they have P25 capable radios already? Seems like a LOT to spend on communications for departments that can't afford new fire fighting equipment

It would be GREAT if there was an "RCS East" - Sure a lotta territory to cover out there...

And yeah - if you're gonna smoke Cubans, might as well smoke the best

Well it looks like my company AMR is buying 9 radios. I wonder if we'll get a new one in Alpine. The one were using now is property of Alpine Fire

Now that I think about it, I would assume those conventional channels on each tower would be part of the RCS data system?
