I found a t-shirt, for San Diego Fire Station One, but the word County wasn't on it.

But there is a San Diego County Fire Department volunteer mini-badge http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0094845715

San Diego Rural has bounced between Heartland and CDF for dispatch and are currently with CDF. The rest are dispatched by Heartland so I wonder who would do it? Both dispatch centers sound very hectic at times so maybe a third, separate dispatch center would work out better for all involved?

Flash Back to the 1970's...

When we DID have "County Fire" that was dispatch moniker via "Station X" on 154.175(simplex) from county ops on Overland.

All the rural and vol's were on it, with unit numbering in the 7000, 8000 and 9000 series.

Radio Configs were mocom 70's in 2 and 4 ch configs if i remember right.

Those were the days...
SDSO was on Low Band (east and south 45.7 and 45.9) and North was on VHF HI (dispatched from old HQ downtown (first floor).

SDSO Supervisors even had thermal printers in some units.
