handheld scanner ear piece

Post by SDnative »

Does anyone know where to find an ear piece like law officers use with their radios?

Radio shack no longer carries the "I-Pod" type, and I am always pulling mine out of my ear.

I have the coiled type ear piece for a Motorola Saber. I know what you mean, the knockoffs always fall out, but the real one like I have doesn't.

They are expensive. Further, none of the "real" ones will plug into most scanners. They usually have something other than a phono plug that you scanner does.

However, I think if you really want one, get on EBAY and look for a Saber survillance earpiece (a real one from Motorola would be best). You would then have to hack off the round DIN plug that fits into the Saber's Hirose adaptor and put your own plug on it. There's a few wires, but you could figure out which is which.
