Flightradar24 sells 35% stake to Sprints Capital to boost global growth

September, 2025

Flightradar24, the Swedish aviation tracking company founded by Mikael Robertsson and Olov Lindberg, has sold a 35% stake to London-based venture capital firm Sprints Capital. The founders, together with CEO Fredrik Lindahl, retain a 65% majority stake and control of the business.

What began as a hobby project has grown into the world’s largest ADS-B receiver network and one of the most widely used real-time air traffic platforms. The company provides subscription services to consumers and data solutions for airlines, regulators, and professional users.

For the financial year ending August 2024, Flightradar24 reported turnover of SEK 420 million, up 18% year-on-year, and a profit of SEK 218 million—a margin rarely seen among Swedish tech firms.

Partnering with Sprints Capital, known for investments in Hemnet and Modular Finance, will give Flightradar24 additional resources to expand internationally while allowing the founders to secure significant returns from their billion-dollar success story.
