With the completion of the transition from the Legacy RCS Network to the NextGen Network, work is commencing to remove the Legacy equipment from the remote radio sites. At some of the sites, this work will require shutting down the NextGen network equipment while equipment and electrical wiring is being reconfigured.

On Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 2020 between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM, the Sidewinder RCS site will be shut down for site reconfiguration. The Sidewinder site covers the Winterhaven area of Imperial County and parts of Yuma, AZ.

On Wednesday morning, February 5, 2020 between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM, the Hendrix Peak RCS site will be shut down for reconfiguration. The Hendrix Peak RCS site covers the far Southeastern corner of San Diego County and the Southwestern portion of Imperial County, along Interstate 8.

Users should be informed of theses outages and be prepared to implement alternate plans for emergency communications needs.

Remaining Legacy channels will be incorporated into the NextGen sites over the next couple of weeks.
