El Cajon Medic Unit 436

Post by RescueKujo »

the city of El Cajon some months ago approached AMR about taking over their medic units. Yesterday was the start of the program, with Medic 436 out of FS 6. The program will be transitional, rather than all at once. I am not sure which order the units will become operational, but the designators will be M437, M438, and M439.

all 4 units are in service now. Correction on the designator, no M437, it is M440. M440 is a 12 hour unit, with the others out of the numbered stations.

I hear Medic 436 and Medic 440 on calls regularly now I believe Medic 436 replaced Medic 6.

Sorry, I've been off the forum for a while...as I'm sure you know know by now, as they are AMR units, they had to change the disignators to 43X, hence the 436, 438, 439, 430, and 440

Do the El Cajon medic units operate on the AMR dispatch channels on the RCS or are the just dispatched by Heartland? I do know that I hear AMR 254 on the AMR dispatch channel being dispatched in the La Mesa area and I hear Heartland dispatching Medic 436 Medic 439 ETC
