AMR on 151.550
AMR on 151.550
I am hearing AMR medics being dispatched on this freq instead on 155.205,155.28,155.265 and 155.220 anyone know whats going on does it have to do with the fires?
I think AMR and AAA had a similar system before. Dispatch office->T1/T3->mountaintop transceiver on simplex.
We can hear the medics if they're close enough, but dispatch is pretty much guaranteed to hear them because they have the best receiver site.
If this is a permanent change, it makes me wonder if something has happened to their T1/T3 system forcing them to go more with ground radio->repeater.

We (AMR) now have 2 temporary repeaters on Soledad and San Miguel (Soledad being called CH 5 and San Miguel Ch 6). On Monday night about 8:30 p.m., I was dispatching our EMTs on Ch 1 and heard a burst of low static with a pop sound at the end. Looking at our radio display, I then saw the indicator for the San MIguel transmitter go to "fail". Early Tuesday morning, I looked and our Palomar transmitter was also showing "fail".
From then until Saturday night when our contractor got everything done, all units (EMTs, Medics and Wheelchiar/Shuttle) were on our channel 4. Medics are now on CH 6 and EMTs on Ch 5. You may still hear 1 or 2 units on 4 as their rig may have problems with the new channels.
I don't know the frequencies, or how long this may take as it's my understanding there are issues with both power supply (SDG&E) and communications cables (AT&T) to both sites. As I know more I'll try to pass them on. I am on vacation starting next week.
