On the way back, Copter 1 referred to the station 47 "site" so I guess there isn't a station there yet. I think it must be in Carmel Valley somewhere.

The site for Station 47 is very close to Carmel Valley Rd and Hwy 56, TB 1188F5. It must have been a ground breaking ceremony or something like that. It is definitely not built.
It is supposed to be a fairly large station. Plans call for an engine, truck, brush rig, maybe more. Of course we all know the city will be lucky to fund an engine for that station, let alone a truck. We shall see.

I heard someone going to the "dedication" of 47...maybe ground-breaking?

I found a schedule item for a "site dedication," whatever that means. The ground breaking was in June.

Since I was in the general area today, I drove by the site. It is at 6041 Edgewood Bend Ct, cross of Carmel Valley. The site has been graded, and trenches are being dug. No more than that.

In this week newspaper (Rancho Santa Fe Record).
had a nice write up on Station 47.

I post some facts it said in it.

1.) 10,500 Square foot fire station (occupy an acre of land)
2.) Estimated to cost about $5.2 million, with up to $3.7 million more for equipment, land acquisition and personnel.
3.) Originally to build around 2010.
4.) Pardee homes, Funding the new station's construction and equipment through mandated community improvement fees.
5.) The station should be completed by November 2007
6.) The new station is hoped to cut fire response times to around five minutes.
7.) The fire station will be a "green building" with renewable energy produced on-site by a photovoltaic system.

Oops Here is the web version of what was in the newspaper
