Talk group patching

Post by PStuart »

Wondering how everybody handles this in their programming. Whenever I'm following a pursuit or other major incident, and they patch two talkgroups, I lose all conversation between those talkgroups. I understand that it changes the talkgroup id to because of the status bit system. Obviously I have "ignore status bit" enabled on my bcd396t, is there any way to continue following the patched talkgroups without switching to ID SEARCH mode or programming the patch'ed talkgroup id's?

If you have ignore status bit set correctly, then patching won't affect your listening. If it IS stopping you hearing, then you should check to be sure you have it set to 'ignore'.
