RCS ADVISORY 2019-07: NEXTGEN RCS NETWORK TESTING IMPACTING RCS NETWORK COVERAGE, WEDNESDAY, JULY 24 BETWEEN 0400 - 0600
As a part of the ongoing effort to bring the NextGen network online, system testing will require that the current network be placed into Site Trunking during these tests.
In order to test the new Master/Core site equipment at the redundant core site, the RCS Network will be switched to the backup site on Wednesday, July 24th, between 4 AM and 6 AM. During this time the existing network and the dispatch consoles will be isolated from the operating Master/Core site equipment. The existing network will go into Site Trunking during the testing, and dispatch centers will need to use their backup radios to communicate with users in the field. Once the redundant site testing is completed, the existing network will be restored to normal operations.
