CURFEWS
All Aircraft Categories / All Runways
No Stage 2 aircraft may depart, or perform an engine run-up, between 2200L and 0700 Local.
No Stage 3 aircraft may depart, or perform an engine run-up, between 2330L and 0630 Local.
For the purposes of our Curfew, all helicopters are still considered Stage 2.
Only valid Life-Flights, that provide completed written documentation with 3 business days, are all allowed to depart during the Curfew.

San Diego Spotters Group - Plane Spotting in San Diego

San Diego Spotters
(Public group)
Group dedicated to plane spotting in San Diego, CA. and surrounding areas. Members of this group routinely visit airports such as San Diego Lindbergh Field (SAN), Carlsbad McClellan-Palomar Airport (CRQ), Long Beach Daugherty Field (LGB), Los Angeles International (LAX) other airfields in this area. Military fields included Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar (NKX), Naval Air Station North Island, Coronado (NZY) The intent for this group is to share and gather all spotting related information in the area. The group is open to local and foreign spotters who are willing to exchange their plane spotting images and other related information with the group members.
Periodically we'll update the information regarding spotting places, information about schedules and incoming flights as well as display the latest photos taken by our members.

Moves to reduce airplane noise on Point Loma Peninsula leave some unsatisfied

Though efforts are underway to mitigate aircraft noise from San Diego International Airport in nearby residential areas such as Point Loma and Ocean Beach, some community members still have concerns following a noise compatibility study.
