Hiding under the overflowing belly of one of those uniformed patrol folks in the pictures is what appears to be a small cellphone on his belt. Probably that's all they use, either straight cell or nextel type two way service.

The FCC shows only one part 90 (any class) transmitter within 1 km of their home office, and it belongs to City of San Diego. Though if they use mobile only, I guess there wouldn't be a listing by address. Sadly, the FCC doesn't let you search for users themselves based on address, only by transmitter location at/near an address.

so far the ID I found is 0-05-009.

Anybod know what the input freqs to this system would be?

The same as every other 800 system, 45 MHz below the output.

If that's them, then their 'other' ID is 0-04-009 (for the other mountaintop in the system)

The 0-20-009 ID given above is a seperate LTR system, on Mt. Palomar.

Very cool.

Just setup your scanner to scan those 3 talkgroups for that company.
they mostly use Mt Woodson & Mt Otay. (RadioShack Pro-97 is very good for LTR scanning)

Glad we can put a name to that talkgroup :-)
Very hard to match talkgroups with company names etc.
on many LTR system in Southern California.

all 3 site is owned by the same radio company.

most companys(radio users) use all 3 sites.
but some chose only to use 1 site. (the one I'm thinking of is no longer a user on the LTR system Sold the Company)

Why do you need the input freqs for the system ???

Will you please make up your mind!!

I saw one of the NPS vehicles today. They are really trying to pull the wool over people's eyes. They have two decal sets on the back of the car.
One the trunk it says PUBLIC SAFETY. On the bumper it says PRIVATE SECURITY.

Which is it bright boy?!?!
THey should just put one decal on the cars that reads ROLLING OXYMORON.

They are close to "impersonating" someone they are not.

But, by state law, companies are required to have their company name, license number and the words "Private Security" on any such marked vehicles. So they appear to comply with the law. It's just that their name implies something different.

Confirmed today :-)
Heard a person I knew on the radio that works at that company...
plus that person said. They going to give up on using Nextel and start using the two-way 800 radios more often now!

Otay/MtWoodson still need to find those talkgroups for them.

That's EPA K9, also out of El Cajon.
