it is my understanding that due to the current "budget crisis", that CVFD Dispatch is out to bid with both Heartland and SDFD. The dispatchers would not go over to the police side, but would be laid off.

Mike, I believe after the crash of the Astrea helo in Sycamore Canyon in 1996 the department switched to the blue design. What happened at that time was our channel 3 transmitter went down. Moved the Medics to channel 4.

Skip, I am a dispatcher/calltaker for AMR, and we monitor both Heartland and Chula Vista. We all do EMD (yes, people direct call AMR for ambulances), but I've never heard anyone use the EMD codes. Those are for documentation within the call in the CAD, so you (the dispatcher) can show which protocol...
