North Comm assigning tac channels only

I noticed that North Comm and Escondido are now assigning a tac channel only to calls. Units are now communicating to dispatch on the assigned tac channel as opposed to a command channel. Anybody have an idea why? I thought it could be related to planned fleetmap changes and radio reprogramming that...

I am fairly sure this department is in San Mateo County. I believe I read some postings on another site about a department leaving the county system and returning to their conventional frequencies.

Heard this in use today on the north loop. Units calling "Sprinter Dispatch" and talking about problems with different warning equipment at crossings.

I don't think that any of those private ambulance companies listed as having RCS talkgroups are still on the RCS (Pacific, Americare, Mercy).

As mentioned, Mercy Air still uses 28016.

RCS North Loop is a splinter system. RCS South Loop is not.
