Re: SDFD Dispatch Talkgroups

Seems that SDFD is now (actually, for some time now) running three talkgroups all multicast as 'dispatch', but there are some 'tricks' to it. Groups in the 'dispatch' multicast are: 4688 'Fire Dispatch Simulcast' - This is, now, the 'master' group. 5008 'Fire Dispatch' 5168 'Fire Admin' If you prog...

Truck 28

Believe it or not, the rollup door was broken and (I guess) Vineyard Doors had to order parts or something. Maybe the city's credit wasn't any good and they wouldn't perform the work until they got paid! (hehehe)

Too bad it has been out of service since returning from the Zaca incident. The rig suffered heat damage and I'm not sure when it will return to service.

SDFD Dispatcher shifts

There are 3 different shifts used at SDFD Fire Communications. They are 8, 10, and 12 hours generally beginning at 0600, 0800, 1400, 1800 & 2200. Due to staffing (i.e. sick calls, vacations, etc.) Some dispatchers work OT and can work up to 16 hours straight. It is rare that a single dispatcher ...
When were those pics taken? I'm certain about the "29" on one of the trucks and fairly certain about "44" on the other. I'm not sure about the engines I saw, however.
The date was incorrect...they were taken on Saturday, August 11th. Truck 29 and 44 are also in m...

Driving east on I-80 through Iowa yesterday, I saw a brand new Truck 29 and Truck 44 headed westbound. I'm fairly certain I passed 2 new engines in Utah a couple days before headed west, but couldn't tell for sure (the paint scheme looked damn familiar though :)) I think you saw T12 and T47... http...

Along with a brush rig from Heartland and North Comm, Brush 35 was sent to the Zaca Fire in Santa Barbara County. This is the fire that has been burning since July 4th and expected containment date is the middle of September.

Oh I see do you think they will start transport eventually? Personally I don't see Cptr10 & 12 transporting patients. Mercy Air has a contract with the County of San Diego. Other Copters transporting patients would have to have a minimum of a paramedic on board to transport. The only way Cptr 1...
