I would be willing to bet it is a new Port District talkgroup. Since it is encrypted it is just a guess, but it would make sense. With all the homeland security money out there, I could see the Port District getting encrypted radios.

Since I was in the general area today, I drove by the site. It is at 6041 Edgewood Bend Ct, cross of Carmel Valley. The site has been graded, and trenches are being dug. No more than that.

The site for Station 47 is very close to Carmel Valley Rd and Hwy 56, TB 1188F5. It must have been a ground breaking ceremony or something like that. It is definitely not built. It is supposed to be a fairly large station. Plans call for an engine, truck, brush rig, maybe more. Of course we all know...

The new Engine 6 (Pierce) was delivered the day before the Fire Expo. They drove it in the parade.
I suppose they could have gotten a new KME, but I remember somebody from El Cajon telling me they were going with Pierce engines after they got the new truck.

I don't think it matters if you fire warning shots near occupied houses or the middle of the desert. As I understand it, warning shots are not permitted at all. Once you decide to fire your weapon, it is to kill.
