Re: BCD-396T Help

Just a further FYI. I too have a 396. It really does help to read the manual just for understanding of the unit at a minimum. Systems, freqs, and talk groups are right on this website. I purchased ARC 396 software and to me its pretty easy to use to set up your unit. Its not terribly expensive and y...

Re: Suicide by spear gun

I happened to be listing when they broadcast this call. It was hard to believe what I was hearing. I believe the FD called for another unit for some help. Nothing in the paper though.

Re: L00king for BCD-369T

I know at recently, at one time, Fry's was selling them, but their price was a little higher than normal. Might have changed since then.

Re: BCD-396T Help

I have a 396 and purchased Butel ARC 396 pro software (Butel software.com). Glad I did as it is easy to use. You can also get a basic version. The pro version is, I believe $69 or so. The basic version, of course.is less. For what it does its very reasonable, in my opinion. It makes it much easier t...

Nationwide, Military Air, US Navy Fleet

I was just listening to my 396 last night and caught numerous comms from/to 3 character designated units e.g, V7Z) some were similar to EAM format traffic. I had started to listen around 9 p.m. It continued until around midnite. My first catch for any traffic like this. It was on Nationwide, Militar...

It might sound silly, but you might want to consider, Mike Turko, KUSI TV, the Turko Files. He does seem to get some results! I don't know if he would take the case, but you might want to consider him also if you're getting nowhere.

CP FD

Anything from them I've heard lately has been on the new DOD 380 MHz system which ( I don't think) the 250D can't monitor.

Many other Pendleton units are on the DOD 380 MHz system now also. Its become very active with traffic.

Hope this relieves any anxiety! :)

Camp Pendleton 400 MhZ System -Update System Offline in 2007

During my scanning this week I've found new TGs (? at least I think they are TGs) using call signs for ID. Sounds like some type of exercise.

TG's 11536, 50384, 50416, and 50448.

Still picking them up today, 8/17.

DOD 380 MhZ System

During my scanning in the past week I've had my 396 back I logged traffic on TG 31366 and 31401 as well as many of the other TGs previously reported. Unfortunately, I didn't log what the traffic was. 31201 does seem to be the new FD Dispatch TG. Haven't heard any Command or Tac channels yet. Regardi...

RCS North East Zone

I'm a little confused about the zone. What cities/communities are considered as being in the zone? What mountain top freq would be a good one to use to hear it/or a simulcast from coastal south Oceanside? Or can it be heard from this location? I've looked at maps and am not quite certain which ones ...
