Re: Air TAC channel?

There are a couple of aircraft frequencies that are used by helicopters in the area.

123.100 is used mostly by law enforcement helicopters for air to air communications.

122.775 is used by TV and other helicopters. I also hear Navy helicopters on there sometimes.

Re: Air TAC channel?

Air Tac 1 is definitely TG 3888 on the City system, like JoeyC said earlier. I heard it identified as such repeatedly the other day during a helicopter flyover during the dedication of the law enforcement officers memorial.

TG 24400

I have been hearing some activity on this talk group the last couple of days. It is listed as the County Disaster Med Strike Team HazMat Tac 2. I don't know if this is a drill, or it is connected with the current swine flu situation. Today they were talking about compiling a list of hospitals and cl...

I didn't see your message in time to get down there.

There's a photo of one from the same company taken at LAX in 2007 by Jeff Saxton here:

Re: NewsChopper 7/39

That's interesting. Thanks for the info.

The pilot still identified himself to the tower as TV 739 though. Maybe that was just habit.

Re: SCANNER QUESTION

The Pro-96 doesn't have priority for talkgroups, only for conventional channels. I don't know of any trunking scanner that does.

NewsChopper 7/39

I shot a picture of what used to be called NewsChopper 7/39 landing at Montgomery Field this afternoon. All of the 7/39 graphics have been removed from it. They must be getting it ready for new ones. Is the station changing its marketing name when they go digital? I noticed their website doesn't men...

I wish they hadn't gone in the middle of the night. You'd think they have something to hide. :-)

The two planes flew from Albuquerque to Liberal, Kansas yesterday (Tuesday 12/16) and are scheduled to fly from Liberal to Thunder Bay, Ontario today, although they are past due for departure (as of 10:15 AM) according to their flight plans.
