Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I've been on vacation and busy with the holidays. I was on the Holland America Oosterdam. I searched the marine frequencies but didn't get much. I did a full scan and picked-up a lot of other passengers talking to each other on their walkie-talkie's. Interesting point ab...

I just got back from my cruise. I searched the suggested marine frequencies and only got those digital sounding tones.
I did a full search and picked up a lot of people talking on those walkie-talkies in the 400mhz range. That was fun for a little while.

Cruise Ship Scanning?

I'm going on a cruise ship vacation.
Anybody ever do any on-board scanning?
Any tips, suggestions, or frequencies?

Thanks for the input,

Unlocking the control channel allowed the trunk scanning to work on the RCS but I still get a lot of that digital buzzing so it's basically useless. I realize now that it scans OK on the SD City, but never stops on a channel because it can't detect the sub-audio control, also useless. I guess in the...

I did a lot of reading and I think I got it now...I had read somewhere that I was supposed to lock out the control channel. I unlocked it and it seems to be scanning/trunking now with the RCS South.
I'll try re-programming the SD City later and see if that was it.

PRO-92 Trunk Programming

I’m looking for input from anyone familiar with PRO-92 trunk programming. I’ve tried several times to program the San Diego City trunk system into my PRO-92 with only partial success. The problem is that the scanner will not “scan” the trunked system. I can load all the 800 frequencies without the t...

I like to go to Koby's swap meet. Spring Valley has become such a rat race, and the last few times I went to Santee it was slim pickin's.
I'm still trying to get that PRO-92 programed. Maybe I'll post a question in the scanners section.

Another good deal...This weekend I bought a PRO-92 Trunking Scanner at the swap meet for $5. It seems to work fine. I've been trying to program the trunking for the San Diego Police but I'm having a little trouble getting it to scan. It works well on each channel/frequency, and I can see the talk gr...
