El Cajon just placed a brand new KME eninge in service - Engine 7, replacing a Pierce that I believe was from the 80s. That with their new truck has ECFD pretty much up to date.
Well I could be wrong, but I know for a fact that a brand new Pierce engine got delivered a month or so ago, and it was marked Engine 6. I can't imagine them buying a rig from KME and a rig from Pierce at the same time. It wouldn't make any sense. Traditionally, Engine 7 gets hand-me-down engines due to the slower call volume.
But I could be wrong.
Hmmm...I work right across from Engine 7. sure looked new and it was definitely a KME but I may just go over and ask. I know 6's got a new Pierce truck recently, but the last time I saw the engine it was a KME.
The new Engine 6 (Pierce) was delivered the day before the Fire Expo. They drove it in the parade.
I suppose they could have gotten a new KME, but I remember somebody from El Cajon telling me they were going with Pierce engines after they got the new truck.
