Chula Vista Fire

I have been listening to CVFD and im hearing SDFD's engines dispatched on CVFD's dispatch talkgroup and I put my scanner on the city system to hear the SDFD dispatch and I hear the same thing anyone know if its a simulcast thing SDFD is doing?

SDFD now dispatches for CVFD. They have been doing this for about a year or so.

I know that but I am just hearing san diego city's engines dispatched on CVFD's dispatch talkgroup.

Probably had the two patched together for some reason. That's my guess.

Mike,
San Diego and Chula Vista have dropped borders and the closest engine/unit is going on responses. You may, for example, hear USAR 53 rather than Rescue 4 going to a major TC say at the 805 and 905. Or maybe E6 going into E53's district in the area of Orange/Main for a medical aid. Kinda like what Heartland units have done for years....
