EAST ZONE INFORMATION PAGE

In December 2005, the RCS switched the mode of operation for the EAST ZONES.  This is a major benefit for scanner listeners.

No longer is each east site independent.  Now traffic in the east zone is carried over all of the sites in the simulcast. However, several intellipeater sites do still exist for certain hard to reach areas.  More information on those as it becomes available.

Wherever you're at you should hear most if not all traffic as long as you can hear any one of the sites.  Most of the higher elevation sites will bring the east zone within reach of listeners in the metropolitan areas of San Diego.

Note: Imperial County is still isolated to several sites in the east-most extreme range of the system.  You will not normally hear Imperial traffic on the East Simulcast except for the system-wide mutual aid talkgroups.

Please see the Frequencies list for the channels.  Program it in as you in a similar fashion as you did with North or South. You will find the EMA fire commands and tacs, as well as Rural SDSO, Inland Fire and others including El Cajon CHP.

Further, in June of 07, the North East Zone went online. It's also in the Frequencies page..
