A bit of humor by Trenton D. Starnes:  Email:
Are you a redneck trunker?

You know you're a red neck trunk tracker if.........

You trade talk group ID's with your scanning friends instead of frequencies.

Your favorite way to entertain yourself is to stare at channel indicators blinking on and off.

You can feel your way around your 235XLT keypad in total darkness.

The white letters around the "trunk" key are completely worn off.

You know a fleetmap like the back of your hand.

When going asleep at night, you envision talk group ID's jumping a white picket fence.

Your police officer friends come to you to ask what their own talk group ID is.

Every one of your 300 channels are filled with frequencies that have a number 8 in the front.

Your web browser automatically goes to trunktracker.com upon startup.

You mow the lawn every day after your wife bought you scanner headphones from RadioShack.

When you have trouble sleeping, you listen to the soothing sound of the control channel.

When you consider a new scanner, instead of asking "How many channels" or "How fast does it scan" you ask "How many ID slots" and "How fast is the control channel tuned".

You programmed your trunked system from memory.

If your fingers constantly hover over the "SRCH" button.

If you have friends who have friends that work at Uniden.

You proudly tell everyone the above fact.

Your definition of "trunk" - The greatest invention since programmable scanners.

Your greatest fear is one day waking up and realizing that your local police department has switched to a GE/Ericsson system.

You walk into the local electronics store and the salesmen automatically say, "Sorry, Mr. Jones, no word from Uniden yet."

You can forget your anniversary date, but remember 257 talk group ID's and users from memory.

You find yourself pondering the great mysteries of life, like "Why are there only 50 talk group ID slots" and "What's so difficult about creating a GE/Ericsson capable scanner" and "Who the heck IS that ID, anyway?".

You discover a new trunked system in your area and it's like Christmas.
